Miracle Drug

Now that my schedule is about ten times more daunting than it use to be, I've bluntly realized how much I've come to rely on my morning cups of coffee. Every morning at 5:30 AM, I'm brewing a half carafe and splitting it between two travel mugs--one for each half of my morning commute. When I arrive at work, I brew another half pot and usually drink at least twelve more ounces, all before 11 AM. On weekends, I generally get up around 8, brew an entire pot, and finish off about three-quarters of it.

All this to say, the other morning I didn't have time to get my brew on and had to do my morningly routine without. Seriously, I have had some pretty bad days, but this one took the cake. My brushes with death were many on my commute and I couldn't concentrate nor communicate clearly once there. I must have been something of a zombie.

Whilst reading the article on caffeine on Wikipedia, I found this picture that shows the devastating effects of caffeine on common spiders; it has nothing to do with caffeine's effect on humans--well, if anything there is a negative correlation (i.e., better concentration, more energy, etc).

Some days are better than others.

Burger King has that new high-rev stuff. "Turbo-Strength" BK Joe they call it. You should give that a whirl.
