As of 20 minutes ago, I sent out group emails to the rosters of each of my classes. Basically, the email gave the link to the online trailer and asked the students to simply spread awareness of our plight by forwarding message to friends and other students they know. It also *suggested* they write to Corey and either express their interest in seeing the film or ask for YAC's reasons for censoring it.
According to the counter on the trailer's website, 15 people had watched it in less than 10 minutes. Since I feel like we're being crushed underfoot of the YAC bureaucracy, I feel this is a simple attempt for our voice to be heard.
[The counter was at 63 when I sent the email at 4:00 this afternoon]
Zero-hour is approaching.
"To All LU Students,
We submitted a film for this year's film festival—one that took more than 200 hours to prep/shoot/edit. However, as early as yesterday, YAC informed that they will not be showing it because they think LeTourneau students are too fragile to be subjected to a story wherein the main character deals with his own issues concerning suicide.
The screenplay is based on the short story "The Dream of a Ridiculous Man" by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

If you feel this issue is something worth speaking up for, please pass this email along to your friends and/or send an email to the head of YAC, Corey Ross (coreyross@letu.edu) and tell him you want to see this film—or even just ask for their reasons for not showing it.
If this issue does not concern you, I apologize for wasting your time.
Thank you very much.
Drew Allen"
