This Guy Is Completely Serious!!

Among the many responses I received to the mass-email initiative, this is by far the worst. Actually, it's the only negative one I received. I can't believe I let it go on for as long as I did. These are back-and-forth emails.

--------------

I went to film festival last year and I believe that film festival is supposed to be something that is funny and not serious.

Cedric,

Thank you for your reply. I understand not everyone has the same views concerning the film festival.

Drew

So what are your views?

Cedric

Cedric,

While I agree that many people enjoy seeing comedies, I believe the film festival should include several genres, if available. Film is a medium through which people should address a variety of topics, but above all, be creative.

Thanks for your interest,
Drew

Your idea of Film Festival is something that you should talk about with Corry (sic) for next year. The truth is that Film Festival is a time for people to take a break from school and be able to laugh and enjoy each other company. Putting a movie with such a serious subject matter will take away from the joy that is supposed to be experienced at Film Festival. I am sure that it is a great movie and I would love to watch it sometime. There is a time and a place for everything but film festival is neither the time nor the place for this kind of movie.

Cedric,

I mean you no offense, but we won Best Overall awards (among awards for cinemaphotography, acting, directing, and screenplay) for the 2001-2002 film festivals. For serious films. I think you've let your view of Hootenanny contaminate your view of the film festival. I don't know how familiar you are with the art of film, but I've never heard of a film festival being restricted exclusively to comedies.

Drew

That is excellent that you won Film Festival here those years. What were those movies about?
Cedric
